Interesting comments, especially on how a lot of the emotional responses were manufactured… I definitely agree that a lot of music can hit different at different times. I started messing around trying to learn how to play guitar during the pandemic. I am not good by any measure, but my appreciation for certain things has really changed.
I’m intrigued by Captain Beefheart. Any recommendations on a good starting point? If you do decide to dive into the dead at all I would recommend checking out the famous concert from May 8th 1977. Not that it’s necessarily their best, but it gives a good feel for a typical very well played show…
